AWMAC’s Guarantee and Inspection Service (GIS) Program will save you time and money while ensuring quality assurance for your woodworking projects.” You may have heard us mention this before, but who truly stands to benefit? Whether you are an architect, a general contractor, or a client, each role benefits from distinct advantages on every GIS project.
AWMAC's GIS Program is a national initiative that has developed over the past two decades, aimed at ensuring the delivery of high-quality architectural woodwork for every project. This program is administered through AWMAC chapters on a per-project basis and is accessible throughout Canada.
Architects, general contractors and clients will experience significant advantages throughout the entire process when utilizing the GIS Program. A comprehensive review of shop drawings is conducted, with follow-up measures in place until all deficiencies are addressed. This proactive approach eliminates the need to track a list of deficiency items or follow up on subcontractor suggestions for alternate products that they claim are equivalent.
AWMAC is committed to ensuring that specified products are delivered as promised. A sample cabinet review will identify any potential deviations from the architectural specifications and the approved shop drawings. Detailed reports are generated at each stage to pinpoint items that fail to meet the AWMAC Quality Standards outlined in the NAAWS Manual, as well as those that do not adhere to the architectural specifications provided at the time of tender.
Furthermore, engaging AWMAC will not impede your project timeline; rather, it will enhance efficiency.
We oversee the review of fabrication and installation, allowing you to concentrate on other critical aspects of your project. Upon the complete installation of architectural woodwork, a thorough site inspection will be conducted by an AWMAC Certified Inspector.
The GIS Program instills complete confidence that the architectural woodwork fabricated and installed adheres to recognized industry standards, as outlined in the NAAWS Manual 4.0.
When the project is produced by an AWMAC Manufacturing Member, an AWMAC Certified Warranty is provided.
This two-year warranty, that includes three tiers, ensures that any necessary rectifications during the warranty period will be made at no expense to the client. Should the manufacturer be unable to fulfill the required work, AWMAC will arrange for another member to complete the task to your satisfaction, also at no cost to you. It is essential to specify GIS for every job to fully realize the comprehensive benefits it offers.
Through Amfac’s GIS Program, we collaborate with you at every stage of your project. An AWMAC Certified Inspector will support, review, and approve your project from the initial shop drawings to the final installation.
The GIS Program comprises four simple steps, provides access to certified inspectors, and offers you peace of mind.
Regardless of the role you play, you can benefit from AWMAC’s GIS Program. Begin the process at
