RONA and Tilley partner to offer better workwear.
Home improvement retailer RONA is dressing up its shelves this fall with an affordable, exclusive line of workwear designed to not only help Canadians more comfortably carry out all their projects, but also look great in the process – even well after the job is done.
Called Tilley Tuff and designed by the iconic Canadian brand Tilley, the trendy workwear collection is durable and flexible enough for pros, but intended for everyone who tackles home improvement and construction projects. Featuring 60+ innovative items – including hats, t-shirts, pants, work shirts, hoodies, vests and socks – the line is initially geared towards men, with other Tilley Tuff collections planned to be added each spring and fall.
“We are thrilled to launch this exciting new category - our first foray into workwear - and to have the opportunity to reinvent Canadian workwear for all seasons,” said Doug Young, chief merchandising officer at RONA inc., one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers with some 425 corporate and affiliated stores under different banners.
“The collection addresses an opportunity, using new technologies to produce durable, stretch and movement-enabling fabrics, and geared to withstand the wear and tear of everyday adventures and projects. Tilley Tuff workwear showcases innovation and quality at a great value and is exclusively available at our RONA+ and RONA stores,” Young said, contrasting the line with rigid, rough-on-the-skin, water-absorbing cotton workwear typically available today.
Developed for the outdoors, the Tilley Tuff polyester-nylon material blend includes stand-out features such as wind and water resistance, sun protection (UPF 50+), water repellency, quick dry finish, heat regulation, breathability, wrinkle resistance, and hidden mesh ventilation. The products’ adaptable mid layers provide insulation and the ability to adjust to changing temperatures throughout the day without added weight or bulk.
“Whether helping a neighbour build a fence or powering a grid, our goal is to help Canadians by bringing them more comfortable clothing that works smarter,” Young said. “And because we’re all about value, we’ve ensured that Tilley Tuff works as hard as Canadians do, from jobsite to offsite.”
