More than 11,000 visitors attended the 28th edition of Xylexpo.
The 28th edition of Xylexpo, the biennial international exhibition of woodworking and furniture technology in Milan, Italy, closed its doors on May 24, after a successful run.
More than 11,000 visitors attended the event, with 27 per cent coming from abroad. Among the latter, 70 per cent came from Europe, 18 per cent from Asia, five per cent from the Americas and five per cent from Africa.
“We must admit we expected lower visitor numbers considering the difficult period for trade fairs, but as it seems, Xylexpo’s long tradition has once again (proven its draw),” said Dario Corbetta, exhibition director, a few hours after the end of the event.
“Also, the decision to stay within the standard working days – Tuesday to Friday, leaving the Saturday free – was rewarded and ensured consistent attendance, after the opening day, on all exhibition days”.
Xylexpo 2024 – an exhibition exclusively dedicated to furniture and wood technologies and equipment – offered many opportunities for reflection, starting from the need to present exhibitors and visitors with an event open to new discoveries, a challenge organizers have already taken up for the next edition.
Strong attention was also created by the theme of Industry 5.0, despite the fact that the still missing definition of implementation rules by the Italian authorities has not yet resulted in the expected boost to orders. Nevertheless, many of the 270 exhibitors attending, reported high-quality contacts and closed several deals during the exhibition.
Very positive figures were also recorded via Xylexpo’s online activities. From April 24 to May 25, the number of contacts was incredible with 58,000 on Facebook, 77,000 on Linkedin, 145,000 on Instagram and more than13,000 YouTube views.
Xylexpo Digital also played its part. Offering a collection of content created for and during the exhibition, the channel attracted more than 3,200 visitors during the trade fair, and this figure will grow exponentially in the coming weeks, as all Xylexpo Digital content will remain accessible on-demand.
