This year marks the 15
th anniversary for Chaulk, a kitchen and cabinet shop in Minden, Ontario.
Since its official opening on Feb. 9, 2009, in a 600 sq. ft. space as Chaulk Woodworking, Chaulk has grown to become one of Canada’s highest producing cabinetry facilities per square foot, now occupying a 5,000 sq. ft. space and employing 12 full time team members.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating this milestone, it’s been an incredible journey so far, with lots of learning and course correcting,” says company President Trevor Chaulk.
“We’ve been able to overcome challenges like flooding and a pandemic because of innovation, creativity, a wonderful team.”
The success at Chaulk includes more than just a focus on product, but also the innovative approach to staffing with a 4-day workweek and the support of the local community through programs such as the annual Christmas for Kids giveaway.
“In order to be truly integrated into a community, you need to be authentic and give back whenever you can. We want to help those who have had the same challenges my own family experienced over the years,” says Chaulk. “Whether that’s being part of our team and needing more time with your kids or supporting the wider community through financial assistance during the holidays.”
Over the past 15 years, Chaulk has experienced 420 per cent growth. Following the rebrand of the company to Chaulk in 2022, the focus continues to be maintaining company culture, values, efficiencies, and product innovations, such a digital expansion and additional production capacity in 2024.
