CNC Automation opened its doors in Saint Zotique, Quebec, Nov. 20-22, for an open house on “Finishing and Surface Preparation.” This was the re-launch of the CNC Automation demo centre, which during COVID, was utilized as warehouse space to ensure that the business was still able to support their customer’s critical needs for new machines and parts.
The event was well attended with more than 75 customers from seven provinces and 40 companies visiting.
The event was supported with live demos by AkzoNobel/Chemcraft, Canlak, Envirolak and ICA/Sherwin Williams running on a Cefla spray line with a Sunspot linear IR oven line in two different configurations; straight linear and then a u-shaped batch system with cross transfer, which was shown at CNC’s newly-acquired, 30,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Riviere-Beaudette, Quebec.
Additionally, there was on site support from Cefla, Mirka, OMAL, Sames, Sunspot, Weber and Richelieu Hardware. CNCTech + was presenting software solutions from DDX software, which will come to the Canadian marketplace shortly as an alternative to existing platforms.
On the surface prep side of demonstrations, were two Volpato edge sanders, the Weber KSN-3 1350 CMP-2 sander, and a Thermwood CS43 router was running doors for finishing demos using CNC Automation’s very own Panelmetrix software package. A late arrival to the open house was the Panel Pro sander, unfortunately delayed on the seaway, but the CNC Automation team worked late into Tuesday night to get it operational and customers who were present on Wednesday got to appreciate this new machine designed to sand flat centre panels of doors productively and effectively.
